Research in and around ACRO

ACRO's research agenda is very broad. We have colleagues, associates and centre researchers working in the following areas:

* Business: Understanding new business and economic models for the broadband content economy;

* Interaction design: Understanding how to help people and industries best access and make use of broadband content from many sources and of many kinds through the design of software and hardware;

* Creative Industries: Understanding creative processes in broadband environments;

* Knowledge economies: Understanding the place of creativity and the potentials and dangers of broadband technologies for economic development in knowledge economies;

* Development Communication: Understanding how access to content and tools for cultural production and dissemination can help developing and impoversihed regions of the world improve their lot;

* Law: Understanding the types of copyright regimes required to in broadband environments; and

* Understanding how all these aspects fit together in an entirely new "global playing field".

There are some related publications and reports below. We will be adding associated grants and other such projects to the site as time permits. In the meantime, if you have an interest in any of these research areas and would like to collaborate with ACRO researchers, or if you have an associated project you would like listed here, please contact us.
